At the age of seventeen, Lena Meyskens (1991) started studying classical singing with Axel Everaert at the Maastricht Conservatory. During this period, she was a member of Karmijnrood Podiumkunst, sang numerous chanson concerts and participated in master classes with Gemma Visser, Ludger Engels & Jan van Opstal at the Jekerstudio. She concluded this period with several performances of Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine. Afterwards, she studied French and English literature at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She completed several internships as a dramaturg at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen amongst others. In 2020, Lena obtained her master’s degree with highest distinction. She regularly gives guest lectures and workshops about drag and opera. She is currently working as a dramaturg for Liesa van der Aa.
