An adaptation of the third part of the Mozart's Da Ponte Trilogy by Director Tom Goossens.
Le Nozze is the third part after Don Juan and Così of the well-known DAPONTETRILOGY. A man and a woman with life experience and a flailing boy speak in a language based on Mozart and Da Ponte’s Le Nozze di Figaro. With only the most essential attributes, they construct the estate and the marriage of a count and a countess, their servants and their relatives. To breathe new life into their love, the countess dresses up as the servant girl the count has a crush on. The count wants to spend the first wedding night with the servant and feels like her brand-new groom. The young Cherubino is in love and has to disguise himself in order to keep seeing the countess. Everyone dresses up as everyone else.
“If 'Le Nozze' is a fancy-dress ball, it’s certainly one that’s full of self-confidence, jokingly mocking genre conventions and dressing Mozart’s music in the fresh new outfit it has been crying out for.”

“... Goossens’ talent for finding the right people should not be underestimated. Mozart’s opera buffa unfolds in a minimal but effective set ... Quite apart from the originality and strength of Goossens’ libretto, which is yet another gem of parlando and speak-singing, in this work two generations and two theatrical styles meet...”
